Double Wall Drum

ROASTING

Our Probat roast machine has a double walled drum. This means we can use a lot of heat, while still very gently passing the energy into our beans to develop them very slowly from the inside.

In roasting, the burner passes energy to the drum in two ways. It can be directly on the wall or by simply heating the air that passes through the drum and applies energy to the beans. A double walled drum works very well for us - perfecting our roast style with our machine enables us to fully develop our beans on the inside, while keeping them clean and light on the outside.
